It’s National Popcorn Day on Friday 19th January 2018, so I thought I would look for some yummy recipes for J and I to bake together. It is really important for J to have lots of opportunities to play with food and he enjoys baking so it is an easy way for us to let him explore new ingredients and increase his food confidence. Since I like to share great resources with you, my lovely followers, I decided to make them into a blog post so that you too can enjoy some popcorn themed baking with your children.
I will be adapting our versions of the recipes to be allergy friendly so if you need any tips just send me a message. I found these recipes by discovering the Butterkist Popcorn Challenge and it was perfect for baking with kids. The videos are super cute and I am sure will fascinate your children too.
Have fun baking and I’d love for you to share any of your baked delights on the Teaching Compass Facebook page whenever you have a chance to bake with your kids.
Pop-Choc Fridge Cake
This yummy Pop-Choc Fridge Cake comes from Katie at Mummy in a Tutu and is a vegetarian popcorn refrigerator cake. Katie also has an amazing video to help you. I can’t wait to make this one with J on Friday.
Another fabulous recipe are these Cinema Cupcakes from Emma at Island Living 365. Emma also has a lovely video of her baking with her two girls. These cupcakes look perfect for snuggling down to watch a movie as a family.
This delicious Rocky Road recipe by Sarah over at Mumzilla is fab and easy to follow with children meaning they can really get stuck in. This video will help you if you get stuck especially if like me you want to see what the end product looks like before you start!
This final recipe (my mouth is watering so much I need to go and bake rather than type) from Emma at Miss Pond makes brownies topped with popcorn. Her suggestion to serve these with hot chocolate is a proper chocoholics dream!
